U.S. Navy Sends Ships to Persian Gulf

Today, the United States Navy sent an additional aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf in order to hopefully get Iran to listen to reason. Iran has already stated that no matter what, it will not step down from conducting nuclear research. Earlier this week, the Bush administration stated that Iran was making huge progress on making "nuclear weapons". I don't feel that this is a smart move on the part of the Bush administration, actually I don't think the Bush administration has ever had a smart move. All this is doing is provoking war with Iran, which is very unneccessary.

Peace is something that the Bush administration doesn't understand. If you think Iraq was bad, this would be a major consequence that would surely create a World War in every corner in the world with every country becoming involved whether they like it or not. This can still be stopped, but I don't think that the Bush administration can listen to reason. They never have and they never will. Who knows what kinds of messes President Bush and friends can get the Americans in, in his last two years of the presidency.

If Bush wanted to start a "justified" war, he should help the people of Darfur in Sudan and help starving people all over the world.

Why I'm A Democrat...

As I look around this great country, I see troubled people at every corner. Sure, some aren't suffering; in fact the top 5 percent of families aren't suffering, but what about the other 95 percent who are just doing okay or are in poverty all together? There are more questions than answers sadly, and what's even more upsetting are the answers to these questions are so simple but not enforced or implied. Most families are barely making ends meet with 2 or sometimes more jobs.

Healthcare is out of control with no signs of slowing down increases every year. The minimum wage has been stagnant for the past ten years. This will change in the beginning part of January 2007 with the new Democratic Congress in charge with Nancy Pelosi at the helm of the House. Why is there still poverty in when President Bush is claiming the economy is running on all cylinders and is robust. What ever happened to the old economy where everyone benefits, not just the wealthy? If healthcare wasn't bad enough, we have a social security crisis on our hands, not because we were running out of money six years ago, but because President Bush is fighting a non-relevant war with money from the social security reserves.

I'm not a Democrat because I don't want to be a Republican, nor do I hate Republicans, I just strongly dislike their policies. It's not fair to ignore the middle class and push hard working Americans down into oblivion. I'm a Democrat because it is what I believe in and the party has the polices to make this country a better place. I believe that stem cell research is the key to the future in hopefully prolonging lives and saving ones in peril and in states of disease. I also believe that this War on Terror is a lost cause under the Bush Administration. We should withdrawal our hard working troops and put them where they can be strong and cause-worthy such as a stronger force in .

Why is it five years after the September 11th attacks that we have not found Bin Laden? During the mid-term elections, gay marriage was a big issue on the ballots. I believe that gay marriage should be respected and legal. Gay and lesbian couples are human beings and should be treated like them with the same respect we would give any other person.

Last year, Medicare Part D confused many of the Senior Citizens, I believe that we should have reform on Medicare where everyone can receive it without making it so complicated that everyone would become confused, there is an easier way. I also believe in a Universal Healthcare system. It is ridiculous that the Healthcare companies are charging arms and legs to the millions of Americans who are feeling the pinch of outrageous prices, we can do better. There are many problems in the world today. I am a Democrat because I feel that the can do better and I want to help the world become a better place for all of us.

The New "Axis of Evil"

With world peace extremley fragile this day in age, it
really makes you think who is an ally and who is an enemy,
so I did some thinking and this is what I have come up
with. Say Iran were to try to fight Israel, the world
would go into chaos causing countries and factions to
choose sides quickly.

As of now the real enemies of the United States and it's
allies are Iran, Hezbollah and Al-Queda. If Iran were to
go to "war" with Israel, I think Hezbollah would control
the Lebanese government, North Korea would keep supplying
Iran with nuclear missles as they probably have thus far.
Venezuela would cut oil to the Western countries. In a
way, they would all be allies to one another.

I don't think Russia would be an ally to the United States
for much longer. Truthfully, I have never trusted Russia.
I'm speaking of the government, not the people, to clear
up any confusion. I feel that Russia would turn against
everyone and become communist just as fast as the Berlin
Wall fell.

Already it has been said that Russia would not back
sanctions against Iran if it came down to it. This would
make Russia look bad in the eyes of the world, that is if
your not a part of the "Axis of Evil" as President Bush
called it in 2002.
